One of Britain's foremost scientists, Sir Roger's contributions to general relativity, cosmology and mathematics are among the most significant of the twentieth century. He is the author of The Emperor's New Mind and The Road to Reality, among many other works.

Lord Rees became a Trustee in 2013. He served as President of the Royal Society from 2005 to 2010 and as Master of Trinity College Cambridge from 2004 to 2012. He has held the position of Astronomer Royal since 1995.

Professor Lehmkuhl's work focuses on theories of gravity, spacetime structure and their interaction with matter. He has been an editor of Albert Einstein's Collected Papers since 2010.
